She opened her eyes to see Mick standing by her side looking down at her, she smiled.

“What happened?” Beth asked struggling to sit up

“Well some crazy ass driver hit us with his car and drove us over the bridge and into the water” Veronica said coming through the door and standing on the other side of the room as far away from Josef as she could get.

“Do you know who it was?” Beth asked looking at Mick

“Most likely Dobbs” Josef said interrupting Mick who looked annoyed, when Beth raised an eyebrow Josef continued “William Dobbs AKA James Seabrook”

“This is crazy; I mean why would he hit us with a car and drive us over a bridge if he knows it won’t kill you?” Beth asked Veronica

“It could be a warning ,I mean he has been a vampire nearly as long as veronica, he would have to know that the only way to kill a vampire is fire, silver and a good old beheading” Mick said and Veronica shrugged.

“Yeah it probably is. I mean he always liked to let me know when he had found me, tried to get me shaken up.” Veronica said flipping through a magazine then throwing it away

“What!?” Josef asked but Veronica ignored him

“What did he do to you Veronica?” Mick asked

“Um...well the last time he found me he blew the room I was in up, luckily I wasn’t in it, the time before that he sent a vampire slash mob boss after me and before that he filled my room with silver crosses” Veronica said looking at Mick.

Josef was now mad, she would answer Mick but not her own sire, and yep he was pissed.

“Why the hell didn’t you ever tell me this before, I could have dealt with this earlier!” Josef growled

“Beth could you please tell the jackass over there that the last time William caught me was just before I saw him with the LOVE of his UN-dead life” Veronica asked sweetly

“Josef-“Josef cut Beth off

“Mick could you please tell RONNIE that she left me, and please remind her that she said that she was happy that I found some one, so she cant start acting like a bitch” Josef hissed

“Beth could you please tell Josef that I was being sarcastic and of course I’m not happy that some floozy walked into his life and took his love for me away” veronica growled

“Could you please tell her that Sara is no FLOOZY and she didn’t take my love for her away! “ Josef growled back

“Can you please tell him that he said LOVED” Veronica argued

“Could you tell Veronica that I didn’t mean it” he growled

“Beth tell Josef it’s hard to believe a thing he says when all he does is growl at me” Veronica huffed

“Mick tell her she started it”

“Did not!” Veronica yelled

“Did to!”

“Nah Uh” veronica yelled and shook her head

“Yah Ha” Josef yelled staring at her

Beth and Mick stared as they kept throwing each other ‘yah has’ and ‘nah ahs’ until Mick stood between them and pushed them away from each other making them slam into opposite walls.

“What was that for?” Veronica and Josef said in union

“You two are driving me crazy...you are like children...now you either sort out your problems...quietly... or you shut up” Mick said

“You can’t tell me what to do! I have years on you” veronica growled

“Yes but if you want me to help with Dobbs you will shut up” Mick Said and raised an eyebrow daring her to say something

“Jackass” veronica said under her breath and Josef smirked while Mick rolled his eyes

“Now back to the REAL important issue. Dobbs has obviously found you...again and from what you have told Josef and Josef has told me, he has found you every time... But how? I mean you have been to every part of the world and he had always found you. Turkey, Iceland and even secret under ground cities. Of course he would know you’re sent but you can’t spell someone from the other side of the world” Mick said and sighed

“Well... Veronica and I were talking before, back in her suite. We think he might have put something in her body. Veronica said that when he first captured her he injected her with something but she just thought it was to keep her still. But it could have been something else” Beth said

Josef looked at veronica like he was going to say something but veronica just gave him an annoyed look saying ‘don’t even bother’ Josef shut his mouth.

Veronica was defiantly his most difficult fledging and also the most disobedient...maybe that was because she was his first or maybe it was because she was his mate, the woman he loved. He couldn't treat her badly like he did with some of his other fledging and get away with it. She would call him on his shit and if she didn’t like something she would let him know. Like now, she knew he was going to say something she wouldn’t like, so she shut him up.

“ we could go to the doctor and get some blood test’s to make sure, but if its in your blood then they might not be able to get what ever it is out” Mick said

“look I really don’t care about what is swimming around in my body, what I do care is about getting my crazy ex husbands head cut off...or putting him on fire, either ones fine with me” veronica shrugged

"Yeah well until then we want to keep you safe, so if we get this thing out now we wont have to worry about him finding you right away" Mick said looking at veronica

"But if it's some sort of liquid how are they going to get it out" Beth said scrunching up her brow

"Like i said before, they might not be able to" Mick sighed

"Great i have to go through some one cutting me open again, you know it's starting to get annoying, anyway do you know how painful it is having your body being cut into?" Veronica asked wondering why she had to do this if Josef was just going to kill William anyway

"yes and i have a jar of bullets to prove it" Mick said

"I have an idea, why don't you and Beth stay here and ...talk while me and Ronnie go and see the Vamp Doc down the hall" Josef said

"yeah that's a good idea, and it will also give me and beth some time together not having to deal with you two bickering" Mick smirked and Beth smiled

"I don't want to go with him" Veronica argued and crosses her arms and looks away from Josef

Beth and Mick sighed showing that they were annoyed "Look it is either go and see the Doc or let William find you and rip you to shreds" Mick said

Before Veronica could say anything Josef grabbed her by the elbow and dragged her out of the hospital room and down the hall

"Hey claws off" veronica growled and when her eyes turned ice Josef quickly let go of her arm

“Look were going to the doc so he can check you out, I want to get it over and done with so I can go home and wont have to stay around here while your thinking off different ways to kill me” Josef growled

“Excuse me? Me wanting you dead! You ‘r the one who wants me dead so you can live your life with sleeping beauty and have no interruptions. You know I love you so much and for the millionth time I’m sorry...but right now I just wish you left me to die after you found me in my room so I wouldn’t have to deal with this shit!” Veronica hissed

“I wouldn’t have to be running from my crazy ex, I would have never been tortured and I wouldn’t have had my heart broken, and its all your fault Christopher stone” Veronica said in a deadly whisper and walked down the hall and went into the Vampire Doctors hospital room leaving Josef standing there shocked

He just stood there feeling like he just had been slapped...no punched right in the jaw. Slowly he walked down the wall and joined the doctor’s room where veronica was.

Mick winced, he herd what veronica said to Josef.

“What wrong, what are they talking about?” Beth asked

“Well to sum it up Veronica just told Josef that she wished he never turned her the night when he found her dying” Mick told her and sighed shaking his head.

“Well I honestly don’t blame her, even if I was a vampire I don’t think I could stand going through what she went through” Beth said sadly

“You know I would never let that happen to you” Mick said holding her hand.

Beth smiled, she was so happy that he was interacting with her instead of the usual ‘if something goes wrong ill call you’ thing they had going on.

“I know you wouldn’t” Beth tilted her head and smiled.

Even though she had bruises all over her face and a few stitches above her eye, he never thought she looked so beautiful. It was because she was smiling. He loved it when she smiled, her whole face would light up. He wanted to be with her so badly but Josef was right, humans and vampires don’t mix, she would be getting hurt in the end and that would be crushing to him.

“Hey what’s wrong?” Beth asked seeing him scrunch is brows

“Oh, Nothing, just don’t like seeing you hurt” Mick said

“Ah yes, so what’s the damaged Doc?” Beth smiled

“Well you have two broken ribs, a few stitches here and there and a whole lot of bruises”

“Could have been worse, guess the whole seat belt thing is true...so how long will I be in here?”

“Another two weeks, they want your ribs to heal properly and also they need to keep an eye one you to make sure you don’t fall into a coma. You hit your head pretty hard” Mick explained

“You mean I have to be in this lumpy bed for two weeks? What, do they want me to break my back?” Beth frowned playfully but half serious

“Well actually I talked Josef into letting you stay in one of his rooms; we are getting a nurse to stay in the next one so she can take care of you if you need anything. And also, just in case you get board of not having a proper convocation for two weeks I’ll be there with you” Mick smiled

“What about you’re PI’ing? what if someone needs help?” Beth asked concerned

“Rider introduced me to his friend who also is a PI, of course it was over a web cam but he seemed suitable enough”

“Wait you did all that while I was unconscious? How long was I out?”

“About twelve hours” Mick said “and anyway, remember Vampire super speed, really handy” Mick smiled

After a while of somewhat comfortable silence Beth spoke up “Do you think there tearing each other up?” Beth asked raising an eyebrow

“I don’t think so, because if we did I think we would firstly hear Veronica scream about how Josef is a jackass” Mick snickered “Then there would be the screaming, shouting and various objects being broken”

“Wow they have a long past...how are you going to deal with the whole William thing?”

“Well after we find out if there is something in veronica that makes William able to always find her, I will have to find him and bring him to Josef...but from what I herd from Josef, William is the sort who likes to piss you off, in that case if he pisses me off I will dispose of him” Mick said

Groaning Beth sat up more and faced Mick so they were inches apart “Be careful i don’t want to loose you from my life” Beth said softly and raised her hand to his cheek

Without thinking Mick leaned in and brushed his lips against her then capturing them into a passionate kiss
